GREYHOUND MEN’S TENNIS TEAM CHOSEN THIRD IN LANDMARK CONFERENCE PRESEASON POLL

MADISON, N.J. --- The 2011 Moravian College men’s tennis team has been chosen third in the Landmark Conference season in a preseason poll selected by the conference’s head coaches and sports information directors.

Defending conference champion Drew University was selected to repeat as champions with 83 points while The University of Scranton was picked second with 68 points.  The Greyhounds received 63 points while The Catholic University of America was fourth at 52 points.  Juniata College holds onto the fifth spot with 45 points while Susquehanna University is sixth with 44 points.  Rounding out the poll are Goucher College in seventh with 24 points and The United States Merchant Marine Academy with 14 points.

Moravian, under the direction of second-year head coach Bill Maxwell, returns six starters from last year’s 7-8 squad that made its fourth straight postseason appearance last spring.

The Greyhounds began their 2011 spring season on Monday, March 7th with a 9-0 win over Marietta (OH) College at the Spring TennisFest in Hilton Head, South Carolina.  Moravian will play three more matches before returning home.
