MORAVIAN’S JAKE SCHWEITZER & ROBERT SOLANO NAMED LANDMARK CONFERENCE
BASEBALL PLAYER & PITCHER OF THE WEEK

MADISON, N.J. --- Senior second baseman Jake Schweitzer (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic HS) of the Moravian College baseball team has been named the Landmark Conference Baseball Player of the Week while freshman Robert Solano (Stroudsburg, PA/Notre Dame East Stroudsburg HS) earned Pitcher of the Week accolades for their performances last week.

The duo helped Moravian to a 4-2 mark last week and a 5-2 record at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational during Spring Break. 

In six games last week, Schweitzer, pictured at right, was nine-for-15 from the plate, a .600 average, to go with three runs, five RBIs, two doubles, four walks and three stolen bases.  In the field, Schweitzer had 13 putouts and 13 assists in 28 chances.

Solano, pictured at left, tossed a three-hit shutout in a 5-0 win versus Mount Alyosius College that included a walk and three strikeouts in his only action of the week.

The Greyhounds, 7-3 overall, are scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, March 15th in a non-conference game at Muhlenberg College beginning at 4:00 p.m.
