MORAVIAN’S BRENDAN CLOSE HONORED AS ECAC DIVISION III SOUTH BASEBALL CO-PITCHER OF THE WEEK

CAPE COD, MA --- Junior pitcher Brendan Close (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom HS) of the Moravian College baseball team has been named the ECAC Division III Baseball Co-Pitcher of the Week for his performance last week.

Close, who was also named the Landmark Conference Pitcher of the Week this week, improved to 4-0 on the season with a three-hit shutout of Juniata College.  Close tied the school record with his 16th career win in the 3-0 victory, and he allowed just one walk while striking out 11 batters.

The Greyhounds, 10-5 overall and 3-0 in Landmark Conference action, are scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, March 23rd in a non-conference game versus The University of Maine-Presque Isle beginning at 3:00 p.m. at Gillespie Field.
