MORAVIAN SOFTBALL SQUAD MOVES UP TO 21ST IN LATEST NFCA DIVISION III TOP 25 POLL

STARKVILLE, MS --- The Moravian College softball team moved up one spot to 21st in the sixth regular season National Fastpitch Coaches Association NCAA Division III Top 25 Poll for 2011 released Wednesday. 

Linfield (OR) received seven first-place votes and 199 points to hold down the top position while Emory (GA) University has the final first-place vote and 183 points for second place.  Louisiana College is in third place with 178 points while Luther (IA) College is fourth with 175 points.  The University of Texas-Tyler holds down the fifth spot with 159 points. 

The Greyhounds, who have 37 points, were seventh in the preseason poll and tied for ninth in the first regular season poll before falling to 11th a month ago.  Moravian was 23rd in the fourth regular season poll and dropped to 25th before rising up to 22nd last week.

Moravian is currently 13-3 on the season including a 5-3 loss to Emory on March 8th, and a doubleheader split winning 3-0 and losing 6-0 to 19th-ranked The College of New Jersey on March 17th.
