MORAVIAN SOFTBALL SQUAD MOVES UP TO 17TH IN LATEST NFCA DIVISION III TOP 25 POLL

STARKVILLE, MS --- The Moravian College softball team moved up one spot to 17th in the eighth regular season National Fastpitch Coaches Association NCAA Division III Top 25 Poll for 2011 released Wednesday. 

Linfield (OR) received all eight first-place votes and 200 points to hold down the top position for a ninth straight week while Emory (GA) University has 190 points for second place.  Central (IA) College is in third place with 180 points while The United States Coast Guard Academy is fourth with 159 points.  Louisiana College holds down the fifth spot with 157 points. 

The Greyhounds, who have 71 points, were seventh in the preseason poll and tied for ninth in the first regular season poll before falling to 11th.  Moravian then dropped to 23rd in the fourth regular season poll and down to 25th before rising up to 22nd three weeks ago, then 21st and 18th last week.

Moravian is currently 21-3 on the season including a 5-3 loss to Emory on March 8th, and a doubleheader split winning 3-0 and losing 6-0 to then-ranked The College of New Jersey on March 17th.
