NEW ORLEANS, LA --- The Moravian College men’s & women’s track & field teams are both ranked in the Mideast Region in the third NCAA Division III Regional Team Index of the 2011 outdoor season released by the U S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Wednesday with the Moravian women first in the region for a third straight week while the men are second for a second consecutive week.

The Greyhound women have a total of 357.62 points.  Johns Hopkins University is second with 212.93 points while Elizabethtown College moved into third at 202.55.

The Greyhound men have a total of 306.62 points, and Moravian was tenth in the first ranking.  Haverford leads the Mideast Region with 311.25 points while Carnegie Mellon University is third with 221.03 points.

The scoring system for the teams shall be the sum of two factors measured per individual/relay performance on the national descending-order lists: place on the descending order list and a weighed value of the individual/relay performance based on the field (“bonus”).  Complete information and the polls can also be found at http://www.ustfccca.org/rankings/division-iii-rankings.

Moravian will return to action on Friday and Saturday, April 30th and May 1st when they travel to the 2011 Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships hosted by Juniata College.
