MORAVIAN’S LUCAS SMITH HONORED AS EMPIRE 8 CONFERENCE MEN’S GOLF PLAYER OF THE WEEK

ROCHESTER, N.Y. --- Senior Lucas Smith (Wyomissing, PA/Wyomissing HS) of the Moravian College golf team has been named the Empire 8 Conference Men’s Golf Player of the Week for his performance last week.

Smith, who won the honor twice in the fall and now twice in the spring, tied for 14th of the 25 golfers at the Lehigh Valley Collegiate Cup on the par 72 Saucon Valley Country Club Grace Course with an 81 in his final collegiate round. Smith ends his career fifth in school history with a 79.65 average over 51 rounds of golf for the Greyhounds.

Moravian has completed its 2010-11 season, and the Greyhounds were the runner-up in the Empire 8 Tournament.  Smith earned All-Conference First Team honors with a fifth place finish in the 72-hole championship.
