MORAVIAN SOFTBALL SQUAD DROPS TO 25TH IN LATEST NFCA DIVISION III TOP 25 POLL

STARKVILLE, MS --- The Moravian College softball team dropped seven spots to 25th in the tenth regular season National Fastpitch Coaches Association NCAA Division III Top 25 Poll for 2011 released Wednesday. 

Linfield (OR) received all eight first-place votes and 200 points to hold down the top position for an 11th straight poll including the preseason while Emory (GA) University has 191 points for second place.  East Texas Baptist University moved into the third spot with 172 points while Luther College jumped from 11th to fourth with 165 points.  Central (IA) College rounds out the top five with 161 points. 

The Greyhounds, who have 23 points, were seventh in the preseason poll and tied for ninth in the first regular season poll before falling to 11th.  Moravian then dropped to 23rd in the fourth regular season poll and down to 25th before rising up to 22nd, then 21st, 18th and 17th.  The Greyhounds dropped to 18th before the drop to 25th this week.

Moravian is currently 30-6 on the season including a 5-3 loss to Emory on March 8th, and a doubleheader split winning 3-0 and losing 6-0 to then-ranked The College of New Jersey on March 17th.
