MORAVIAN BASEBALL RANKED 7TH IN FIRST NCAA DIVISION III REGIONAL RANKINGS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- The Moravian College baseball team is ranked seventh in the Mid-Atlantic Region in the first NCAA Division III Regional Rankings released Thursday. 

The Greyhounds are 27-7 overall, a school record for wins, and now 26-7 in-region, one of the main criteria’s for the ranking.  Kean University is ranked first in the region and is followed by Rowan University, Keystone University, Alvernia University, The College of New Jersey and Ramapo College of New Jersey.  Misericordia University and Rutgers-Newark round out the top nine in the regional poll. 

Moravian dropped a 9-2 decision to TCNJ on March 22nd.  The complete rankings can be seen at http://www.ncaa.com/rankings/baseball/d3/regional_rankings.

Moravian, which has a 14-1 mark in Landmark Conference action, is scheduled to return to the field on Saturday, April 30th in Landmark Conference doubleheader at The Catholic University of America beginning at 12:00 p.m.  The Greyhounds need to win one contest in the three-game series to earn the top seed in the 2011 Landmark Conference Tournament that begins on Saturday, May 7th.
