MORAVIAN’S ELIZABETH PYTHON NAMED LANDMARK CONFERENCE SOFTBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK

MADISON, N.J. --- Senior pitcher Elizabeth Python (Huntington Station, NY/Walt Whitman HS) of the Moravian College softball team has been named the Landmark Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for the second straight week for her performance last week.

Python, who earned the award for the second time in three weeks, finished the regular season with an undefeated 12-0 record after two wins last week for Moravian.  Python was 2-0 with a 1.00 ERA, eight hits, four walks and 15 strikeouts in 14 innings of action.  She was the winning pitcher in Moravian's 5-1 win over Susquehanna University to clinch the top seed in the Landmark Conference Tournament.  Python also had two putouts and five assists in seven chances in the field.

The 25th-ranked Greyhounds, who are 32-6 overall and 11-1 in Landmark Conference action, are scheduled to return to action on Friday, May 6th as the top seed in the 2011 Landmark Conference Tournament at Blue & Grey Field.  Moravian, which is hosting the tournament for a fourth straight year, will battle fourth seed The University of Scranton in the opening game of the tournament on Friday at 11:00 a.m.
