MORAVIAN BASEBALL TEAM RECEIVES VOTES IN D3BASEBALL/NCBWA DIVISION III TOP 25 POLL

MINNEAPOLIS, MN --- The Moravian College baseball team received votes for the fourth time this season in the 11th regular season D3baseball.com/National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association NCAA Division III Top 25 Poll released Tuesday. 

Marietta (OH) College holds down the top spot in the poll with 625 points and all 25 first-place votes while Christopher Newport (VA) University is second with 574 points.

The Greyhounds, who received one point in the preseason poll released on January 20th, four points in the first poll and eight points in the second regular season poll, earned two points last week before garnering four points this week.  Moravian is 15th of 19 teams that received votes outside of the top 25. 

Moravian, under the direction of fifth-year head coach Paul Engelhardt, is currently 31-9 on the season and had a 15-game winning streak this season.  The Greyhounds hosted the 2011 Landmark Conference Championship Tournament at Gillespie Field and are awaiting the announcement of the 2011 NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament field on Monday, May 16th to see if their season will continue with an at-large bid.
