MORAVIAN MEN’S TRACK & FIELD TEAM JUMPS TO 13TH IN LATEST USTFCCCA DIVISION III TOP 25

NEW ORLEANS, LA --- The Moravian College men’s track & field team jumped up eight spots to 13th in the eighth and Pre-NCAA Meet NCAA Division III Top 25 Poll of the outdoor season released by the U S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Monday.

The Greyhound men, who have a team point total of 75.31, were ranked 21st last week after being 18th the previous week. Moravian was 16th after being 18th and debuting at 13th four weeks and was outside the top 25 before that, and the Greyhounds were ranked second in the Mideast Region for three weeks before falling to third the last four weeks. The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh jumped to the top spot this week with 173.88 points while McMurry University fell to second with 173.46 points.

The scoring system for the teams shall be the sum of two factors measured per individual/relay performance on the national descending-order lists: place on the descending order list and a weighed value of the individual/relay performance based on the field (“bonus”). Moravian will return to action on Thursday through Friday, May 26th to 28th when it travels to the 2011 NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University.
