TWO GREYHOUND WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYERS RANKED IN NCAA STATISTICS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Two members of the Moravian College women’s basketball team are ranked in the second NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Statistics Ranking of the 2010-11 season through games of January 2nd, and the Greyhounds are ranked in two team categories.

Junior forward Alexandra Blair (Hellertown, PA/Bethlehem Catholic HS) is tied for eighth in the nation in blocked shots per game with an average of 3.6.  Blair, pictured at right, has recorded 41 blocked shots in 11 games this year.

Senior forward Amy Heffner (Schnecksville, PA/Parkland HS) is ranked 22nd in the nation in points per game with a scoring average of 19.8.  Heffner, pictured at left, has scored 209 points in 11 contests this season for Moravian.

The Greyhounds are seventh in the nation in free throw percentage at 76.6 percent.  Moravian has made 210-of-274 free throws this season, and the squad is tied for sixth in blocked shots with an average of 6.3 per contest with 71 total blocked shots.

Moravian is 5-6 overall and will return to action on Saturday, January 8th it returns to Landmark Conference action versus The United States Merchant Marine Academy in Johnston Hall at 7:30 p.m.
