TWO GREYHOUND WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYERS RANKED IN NCAA STATISTICS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Two members of the Moravian College women’s basketball team are ranked in the third NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Statistics Ranking of the 2010-11 season through games of January 9th, and the Greyhounds are ranked in two team categories.

Senior forward Amy Heffner (Schnecksville, PA/Parkland HS) is tied for 40th the nation in points per game with a scoring average of 17.9, and she is tied for 94th in free throw percentage at 81.3 percent.  Heffner, pictuered at right, has scored 233 points in 13 contests this season for Moravian, and she is 78-of-96 at the foul line.

Junior forward Alexandra Blair (Hellertown, PA/Bethlehem Catholic HS) is tenth in the nation in blocked shots per game with an average of 3.6.  Blair, pictured at left, has recorded 46 blocked shots in 13 games this year.

The Greyhounds are eighth in the nation in free throw percentage at 76.6 percent.  Moravian has made 275-of-349 free throws this season, and the squad is fourth in blocked shots with an average of 6.6 per contest with 86 total blocked shots.

Moravian is 7-6 overall and 2-1 in Landmark Conference action, and the Greyhounds will return to action on Friday, January 14th in a Landmark Conference contest versus Susquehanna University in Johnston Hall at 7:30 p.m.
