MORAVIAN’S AMY HEFFNER HONORED AS LANDMARK CONFERENCE WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

MADISON, N.J. --- Senior forward Amy Heffner (Schnecksville, PA/Parkland HS) of the Moravian College women’s basketball team has been named the Landmark Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week after her performance last week.

Heffner helped Moravian to a 2-0 mark last week in Landmark Conference action for the Greyhounds.  Heffner had a monster weekend, averaging 28.5 points and 12.5 rebounds per game, and was named the Landmark Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season.  A member of the Greyhound squad has now been named the Landmark Conference Player of the Week for three straight weeks.

Heffner had 23 points and 13 rebounds in a win over Susquehanna University Friday evening, and then she had a career high 34 points and 12 rebounds in a victory versus Juniata College Saturday afternoon for her sixth double-double of the year.  Heffner was 19-for-35 from the floor (54.3 percent), seven-of-14 behind the three-point line and 12-of-16 at the foul line (75 percent).  She played 66 minutes in the two games with four steals and two blocked shots.

Moravian, which is 9-6 overall and 4-1 in Landmark Conference action, is scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, January 18th in its final non-conference game of the season versus The College of New Jersey tipping off in Johnston Hall at 7:00 p.m.
