TWO GREYHOUND WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYERS RANKED IN NCAA STATISTICS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Two members of the Moravian College women’s basketball team are ranked in the fourth NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Statistics Ranking of the 2010-11 season through games of January 16th, and the Greyhounds are ranked in two team categories.

Junior forward Alexandra Blair (Hellertown, PA/Bethlehem Catholic HS) is sixth in the nation in blocked shots per game with an average of 3.7.  Blair, pictured at right, has recorded 55 blocked shots in 15 games this year.

Senior forward Amy Heffner (Schnecksville, PA/Parkland HS) is 26th the nation in points per game with a scoring average of 19.3, and she is tied for 46th in double-doubles with six.  Heffner, pictured at left, has scored 290 points in 15 contests this season for Moravian.

The Greyhounds are sixth in the nation in free throw percentage at 76.8 percent.  Moravian has made 322-of-419 free throws this season, and the squad is third in blocked shots with an average of 6.9 per contest with 103 total blocked shots.

Moravian is 9-7 overall and 4-1 in Landmark Conference action, and the Greyhounds will return to action on Friday, January 21st in a Landmark Conference contest at Goucher College in Towson, Maryland with tip-off at 7:30 p.m.
