TWO GREYHOUND WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYERS RANKED IN NCAA STATISTICS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Two members of the Moravian College women’s basketball team are ranked in the fifth NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Statistics Ranking of the 2010-11 season through games of January 23rd, and the Greyhounds are ranked in two team categories.

Junior forward Alexandra Blair (Hellertown, PA/Bethlehem Catholic HS) is ninth in the nation in blocked shots per game with an average of 3.6.  Blair, pictured at right, has recorded 64 blocked shots in 18 games this year, just 14 shy of the single season school record she set last year.
 

Senior forward Amy Heffner (Schnecksville, PA/Parkland HS) is 41st the nation in points per game with a scoring average of 18.0.  Heffner, pictured at left, has scored 324 points in 18 contests this season for Moravian, reaching double figures in 17 of 18 games.

The Greyhounds are ninth in the nation in free throw percentage at 76.9 percent.  Moravian has made 376-of-489 free throws this season, and the squad is fifth in blocked shots with an average of 6.5 per contest with 117 total blocked shots.

Moravian is 11-7 overall and 4-1 in Landmark Conference action, and the Greyhounds will return to action on Friday, January 28th in a Landmark Conference contest at Drew University in Madison, New Jersey with tip-off at 5:30 p.m.
