MORAVIAN’S NICCO DALPIAZ NAMED LANDMARK CONFERENCE MEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

MADISON, N.J. --- Junior pole vaulter/sprinter Nicco Dalpiaz (Sunbury, PA/Shikellamy HS) of the Moravian College men’s track & field team has been named the Landmark Conference Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for his performance last week.

Dalpiaz was one of five individual event winners for Moravian at the Thomson Invitational hosted by The University of Delaware.  Dalpiaz captured the pole vault in an ECAC qualifying height of 4.65 meters (15 feet, 3 1/2 inches).  On the track, Dalpiaz was seventh in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.99 seconds, 13th in the 60-meter dash in 7.45 seconds and 17th in the 200-meter dash in 24.05 seconds.  The Greyhound men placed second of 16 teams in the DII/DIII scoring at the meet.

Moravian’s track & field teams will return to action on Saturday, February 5th when they travel to Massachusetts Institute of Technology for a quad match with Williams College and the United States Coast Guard Academy.
