GREYHOUND WOMEN’S INDOOR TRACK & FIELD TEAM MOVES TO 24TH IN NCAA DIVISION III TOP 25

NEW ORLEANS, LA --- The Moravian College women’s track & field team has moved up one spot to 24th in the nation in the fourth NCAA Division III Indoor Top 25 of the 2011 indoor season released by the U S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Wednesday.

The Greyhounds have a team score of 31.21 points, and moved up from a debut of 25th last week while the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh is ranked first at 187.25 points.  Two weekends ago, Moravian placed third at a tri-meet hosted by Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which is ranked third this week.  The other team at the meet was fourth-ranked Williams (MA) College).

The scoring system for the teams shall be the sum of two factors measured per individual/relay performance on the national descending-order lists: place on the descending order list and a weighed value of the individual/relay performance based on the field (“bonus”).  Complete information and the polls can also be found at http://www.ustfccca.org/rankings/division-iii-rankings.

Moravian will return to action on Saturday, February 19th when they are set to travel to the Susquehanna University Indoor Open in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania.
