MORAVIAN MEN’S CROSS COUNTRY TEAM NAMED USTFCCCA DIVISION III ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

NEW ORLEANS, LA --- The Moravian College men’s cross country teams has been named one of 125 teams that earned the 2010 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division III All-Academic Cross Country status.

The Greyhounds posted a team GPA of 3.15, and were one of three Landmark Conference teams to earn the honors, joining Goucher College and Susquehanna University.  To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.10 or better and have compiled a score (finished at least five runners) at their respective NCAA regional championship.

Earlier this week, junior Matthew Lutcza (Dingmans Ferry, PA/Delaware Valley HS) was one of 142 student-athletes from 80 NCAA Division III institutions to earn USTFCCCA All-Academic honors.  Lutcza, pictured at left, earned the Landmark Conference Men’s Cross Country Outstanding Performer after winning the Landmark Cross Country Championship. He also earned All-Region honors with a 21st-place finish at the NCAA Regional and qualified for the NCAA Championships.
