TWO MORAVIAN MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYERS RANKED IN NCAA STATISTICS

INDIANAPOLIS, IN --- Two student-athletes from the Moravian College men’s basketball team are ranked in the ninth NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Statistics Ranking of the 2010-11 season through games of February 20th.

Sophomore guard D.J. Strayhorn (Swiftwater, PA/Pocono Mountain East HS) is 45th in the nation in assists per contest at 5.2 with 129 assists in his first season with the Greyhounds, and Strayhorn, pictured at right, is tied for 66th in the country in steals with an average of 2.2 with 54 steals in 25 games, the second highest single season total in school history.  Strayhorn’s 129 assists mark the first time a Moravian player has surpassed 100 assists in a season since the 2003-04 season.

Sophomore center Blake English (Sussex, NJ/Vernon Township HS) is 33rd in the nation in blocked shots per game with an average of 2.2.  English, pictured at left, blocked 51 shots this year, the second best season in school history, despite missing two games due to an injury.

Moravian has completed the 2010-11 season with an overall record of 9-16 and a 3-11 in Landmark Conference action.
