MORAVIAN’S ERIC WOODRUFF NAMED LANDMARK CONFERENCE MEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

MADISON, N.J. --- Senior sprinter Eric Woodruff (Brodheadsville, PA/Pius X HS) of the Moravian College men’s track & field team has been named the Landmark Conference Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for his performance last week.

Woodruff, who earned Athlete of the Week honors for the fourth time this season, was named the Male Track Athlete of the Year at the 2011 Landmark Conference Indoor Championships hosted by Susquehanna University as the Greyhounds captured their second straight conference title.  Woodruff won two events, the 55-meter dash in an NCAA Division III provisional and ECAC qualifying time of 6.43 seconds and the 200-meter dash in an ECAC qualifying mark of 22.12 seconds.  He also ran the opening leg of Moravian’s winning 4x200-meter relay that set a meet and school record with an ECAC qualifying time of 1:30.56.

Moravian’s track & field teams will return to action on Friday and Saturday, March 4th & 5th at the 2011 ECAC Division III Indoor Championships at the New York City Armory.
