MORAVIAN SOFTBALL 11TH IN NATION ACADEMICALLY

BETHLEHEM, PA --- The Moravian College softball team, which made its first-ever appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament in 1998, has the 11th highest grade point average according to the American Fastpitch Coaches Association.

The Lady Greyhounds, who posted a 27-14 record last season, have a team GPA of 3.290. Hamline College is tops in the nation at 3.441. The only other Middle Atlantic Conference school to be listed in the top 50 is Elizabethtown College at 33rd with a team GPA of 3.109.

Moravian head coach John Byrne will enter his sixth season at the helm this spring with a career record of 140-52. He is currently 34th in the Easton Victory Club for active coaches.
