Fourth seeded Moravian dropped its opening game at the 2006 NCAA Division III Regional Tournament at Salisbury University, falling to fifth seed King's College, 3-2, in the first contest of the tournament.  The Monarchs would load the bases in the top of the first inning but did not score while the Greyhounds got a leadoff double from freshman outfielder Erica Klepeisz (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth HS) in the bottom half of the first inning but did not score. Neither team would score in the first five innings. During the top of the fourth inning, Moravian senior Meagan Hennessy (Freehold, NJ/Freehold Township HS) moved into fifth in NCAA Division III Tournament history with the 851st career strikeout, her fifth of eight strikeouts in the game. King's would take a 2-0 lead in the top of the sixth inning on a leadoff double and a home run. Moravian would get a pair of runs in the bottom half of the sixth inning to tie the game. Klepeisz led off with her second double of the game and moved to third on an infield single by sophomore outfielder Lauren Homa (Chalfont, PA/Central Bucks West HS). Klepeisz would score on a wild pitch and another wild pitch would move Homa to third base. Freshman shortstop Jordan Oplinger (Allentown, PA/Parkland HS) would tie the game with an RBI single through the right side. The Monarchs would retake the lead in the top of the seventh inning on a leadoff double and a two-out RBI double. In the bottom half of the seventh, Moravian would hit two balls well into left field; however, both were caught for outs. Junior catcher Danielle Carrione (Bloomfield, NJ/Mt. St. Dominic HS) then hit and infield pop-up that fell in for a hit. Sophomore Megan Ritchey (Boyertown, PA/Boyertown HS) came into pinch run for Carrione. Klepeisz would rip her third double of the game down the right field line, and Ritchey tried to score on the play but was thrown out at the plate to end the game. Moravian had six hits in the game with Klepeisz’s three doubles. King's would have nine hits.  Hennessy dropped to 22-6 in the circle for the Greyhounds, allowing three runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out three batters.

Moravian won a pair of elimination games on the second day of the 2006 NCAA Division III Regional Tournament at Salisbury University to remain alive.  The Greyhounds defeated seventh seed Haverford College, 3-1, in the first game of the day and fifth seeded King’s College, 1-0, in the final game of the afternoon.  In the first game with Haverford, the Fords took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on a bunt single, a stolen second base and a Moravian throwing error on the steal attempt allowed the run to score. The Greyhounds would get two runners on in the top of the second inning but could not score. Neither team could push a run across the plate until the top of the fifth inning when Moravian sophomore second baseman Beth Paly (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall HS) connected on a solo home run to left field to lead off the inning. The homer was Paly's second of the season and tied the score. The Greyhounds would eventually take the lead with a pair of unearned runs in the top of the seventh inning. Paly led off the inning with a double and was pinch run for by freshman Katie Agnew (Doylestown, PA/Lansdale Catholic HS). After an out, Klepeisz hit a single to put runners on the corners. Klepeisz stole second base and on the play, the Haverford catcher attempted to throw behind Agnew at third but her throw bounced off the helmet of the batter, Homa, allowing Agnew to score and Klepeisz to move all the way to third. Klepeisz scored an insurance run on a passed ball. Moravian had eight hits in the game with three by Paly while Haverford was limited to three hits. Greyhound freshman pitcher Kristie Pellicani (Sparta, NJ/Sparta HS) improved to 10-2 in the circle for Moravian, allowing just an unearned run on three hits and three walks while striking out four batters. The Fords used three pitchers in the game.

In the game versus King’s, Hennessy scattered three hits and allowed just one walk for her 15th shutout and 23rd win of the season. Hennessy struck out nine batters to raise her career total to 863, fifth in NCAA Division III history. Hennessy is also second all-time with 52 career shutouts. Moravian would give Hennessy all of the offense she needed in the top of the fifth inning. Freshman pinch hitter Deanna Mangieri (Pleasantville, NY/Byram Hills HS) led off the inning with an infield single and Carrione re-entered the game to run. Klepeisz reached on a fielder's choice that had Carrione forced out at second. Klepeisz stole second base before Homa drew a walk. Oplinger hit into another fielder's choice that forced Klepeisz out at third base. Junior outfielder Justina Black (Orefield, PA/Parkland HS) then hit a two-out, RBI single up the middle to score Homa from second base with the game's only run. The Greyhounds had just five hits in the game with two by Black.

Moravian won two more elimination games at the 2006 NCAA Division III Regional Tournament, defeating second seed and host Salisbury (MD) University, 2-1, and top seed Methodist (NC) College, 5-0, to advance to the regional championship game for the fourth straight year.  Moravian scored its only two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. After a ground out by Oplinger to lead off the inning, senior designated hitter Richelle McWilliams (Riegelsville, PA/Easton HS) singled to left field and Hennessy came on to pinch run for McWilliams. Freshman first baseman Sheri Bieniek (Lumberton, NJ/Rancocas Valley HS) followed with a two-run, home run to dead centerfield over the 225-foot sign for a 2-0 lead. The homer was Bieniek's fifth of the season. Salisbury would get an unearned run in the top of the seventh inning on a Moravian error and an RBI double. Moravian had just four hits in the game while the Sea Gulls had just five hits off of Hennessy with two by Hoffman.  Hennessy improved to 24-6 on the year in the circle with the win, allowing just the unearned run with no walks and four strikeouts in her 91st career victory. Hennessy became just the seventh pitcher in NCAA Division III history to toss over 800 career innings with her 103 career complete game.

Moravian saw its 2006 season come to a close with a 6-5 loss to third seeded Ramapo College of New Jersey in the championship game of the 2006 NCAA Division III Regional Tournament hosted by Salisbury University.  The Greyhounds finish the season at 37-9, the third straight season the team has won at least 37 games.  The Roadrunners jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning on a solo home run. Ramapo would push five runs across the plate in the bottom of the third inning with the first crossing the plate on a solo home run then two RBI doubles and an RBI single. The Greyhounds would cut the score in half in the top of the fourth inning with three runs. Homa led off the inning with an infield single, and Paly followed with a fielder's choice to put two runners on. Black (doubled down the right field line, driving in Homa and Paly. McWilliams singled up the middle to move Black to third. Santry would finally drive in Black with an RBI single through the left side. Moravian would tack on another run in the top of the sixth inning to cut the Ramapo lead to 6-4. With two outs, McWilliams connected on a solo home run to center field in what ended up being her final collegiate at-bat. The homer was McWilliams' eighth of the season and 23rd of her career which is second all-time at Moravian. The round-tripper was Moravian's 26th of the season, a school record for the team. The Greyhounds pulled within a run in the top of the seventh inning before the game ended with the tying run at second base. With one out, sophomore Ritchey reached on an error and moved over to second base on a ground out by Klepeisz. Homa then singled to left field moving Ritchey to third base before Paly hit an RBI single up the middle to score Ritchey. Black flew out to right field ending the game.
