Moravian had one relay team compete on the first day of the 2007 NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships being hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. The Greyhounds 4x100-meter relay squad of seniors Erin Recker (Catasauqua, PA/Catasauqua HS) and Amy Reehil (Roselle, NJ/Roselle Catholic HS) and freshmen Rachel Beck (Churchville, PA/Council Rock South HS) and Dana Haslett (Sellersville, PA/Pennridge HS) placed fourth in their heat and 13th of 16 teams in a time of 48.20 seconds. Greyhound freshman Anna Heim (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown HS) was scheduled to compete in the pole vault on the first day of the championships; however, sustained winds of 18-20 miles per hour with gusts over 30 miles per hour forced the NCAA to postpone the pole vault competition to the next day.  The Greyhounds had two competitors on the second day of the meet. Recker placed fifth in her heat and 15th of 19 runners in the 100-meter dash in a time of 12.47 seconds. Heim failed to record a height in the pole vault in her first outdoor championship competition.

Last Week – Did not score at 2007 NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh

Season Complete

Moravian had one competitor on the first day of the 2007 NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships being hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Junior Ozzie Brown (Plymouth Meeting, PA/Plymouth Whitemarsh HS) entered the meet ranked second in the decathlon but competed in just three of the ten events before having to pull out of the championship with an injury. Brown started the meet by winning the 100-meter dash in a time of 10.62 seconds that included an 18-mile per hour tailwind which earned him 947 points and a 45-point lead. However, Brown suffered a leg injury in the final two strides of the event. He placed fifth in the next event, the long jump, with a leap of 6.67 meters (21 feet, 10 3/4 inches) in just one attempt to earn 736 points and maintain a ten-point lead. Brown's next event was the shot put where he placed 11th with a toss of 10.67 meters (35 feet, 1/4 inch) to earn 526 points, which dropped him into second place. At that point, the leg injury began to take its toll, and with the high jump and 400-meter dash still to complete the first day, Brown withdrew from the remainder of the competition to avoid making the injury worse.
