The Bulldogs would score their only run in the bottom half of the inning to cut the Moravian lead to 2-1.  Jamie Pfitzenmayer tripled with one out and scored on a sacrifice fly from Kerri Andrews.

Moravian swept its third straight doubleheader and extended its winning streak to seven straight games with a 4-3, eight-inning win over DeSales University in the second game of a twinbill. The contest was the first time in four extra-inning games this season that the Greyhounds earned a victory.

The game was a pitcher’s duel between Greyhound sophomore Jenna Carmon and DeSales’ Jen Lococo with neither team scoring in the regulation seven innings.

The teams went to the international tiebreaker with a runner on second base to start the eighth inning.  Sophomore shortstop Stephanie Falzarano, who had made the final out in the seventh inning, started at second for the Greyhounds.  Freshman outfielder Olivia Evanko drew a walk before senior designated player Maria DeBonis flew out.  Senior first baseman Sheri Bieniek then connected on a two-RBI single to right center field scoring Falzarano and Evanko.  Freshman Priscilla Camacho (Jersey City, NJ/County Prep) pinch ran for Bieniek but was retired on a fielder’s choice but by Carmon.  After a wild pitch moved Carmon to second, sophomore outfielder Amanda Paulus reached on an error to put runners on the corners.  Sophomore third baseman Maura Agnew then hit an infield single to score Carmon and move Paulus to third.  The Greyhounds then pulled off a double steal with Agnew stealing second base and Paulus scoring what ended up being the winning run.

DeBonis earned her fourth career perfect game and sixth no-hitter of her career while striking out 11 Albright batters in the game to improve to 9-5 on the year.  The perfect game was DeBonis’ second straight against Albright, and Moravian’s third straight no-hitter against the Lions as DeBonis and sophomore pitcher Elizabeth Python each had tossed no-hitters against Albright in 2008.

The Greyhounds would score all of the offense DeBonis would need with five runs in the bottom of the second inning.  Sophomore outfielder Amanda Paulus led off with a single and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by sophomore third baseman Maura Agnew.  Senior catcher Deanna Mangieri followed with an infield single that would roll out of play scoring Paulus.  Senior outfielder Erica Klepeisz (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) followed with a single before sophomore shortstop Stephanie Falzarano hit into a fielder’s choice that had Mangieri out at the plate.  After Falzarano stole second base, freshman outfielder Olivia Evanko hit a two-RBI single to score Klepesiz and FalzaranoDeBonis had an RBI single to score Evanko while DeBonis scored on an Albright fielding error.
