(Landmark Conference 1-0)
Damien Palantino and Khalief Trawick each scored 15 points to lead the Arcadia
University men’s basketball team to a 75-59 non-conference victory over
Moravian. The Greyhounds would take an early 5-0 lead on a jumper from
sophomore guard Charlie Rigoglioso (Wayne,
NJ/Wayne Valley) and three-pointer by sophomore forward Chris Cullen (East
Islip, NY/East Islip) at the 17:06 mark. The lead would trade hands five times and
there would be five ties during the rest of the first
half with Moravian’s final lead of the game, 21-19, coming after a pair of Rigoglioso free
throws with 4:48 until the intermission. The Knights finished the first half
with an 11-4 run to head to the locker room with a 30-23 lead. Neither
team shot the ball particularly well in the first 20 minutes. Arcadia
made eight of 27 field goal attempts (29.6 percent), four of ten three-pointers
and ten of 13 free throws in the first half, and the Knights had a 27-20
advantage in rebounds with ten turnovers. Moravian was eight-for-30 from
the floor (26.9 percent), two of 14 on three-pointers and just five-for-ten at
the foul line. The Greyhounds did limit themselves to eight turnovers in
the first 20 minutes. Moravian would pull within four points twice early in the
second half, the final time at 34-30 after a lay-up from Cullen with 17:33 remaining. Arcadia would respond with a 7-0
run to push its lead to double digits, 41-30, on a lay-up by Trawick at the 15:50 mark. With the Greyhounds
trailing by 15 points, 50-35, Moravian would put together a 15-3 run to pull
within three points, 53-50, on a three-pointer by Cullen at the 6:05 mark, but the Greyhounds wouldn’t get any closer
as the Knights eventually pushed their lead back into double digits. Both teams
shot the ball much better in the final 20 minutes. Moravian was 12-for-27
(44.4 percent) from the field, four-for-ten on three-pointers and eight-for-13
at the foul line while Arcadia made 16 of 35 field goal attempts (45.7

on the year. The first half went back-and-forth with neither team taking more
than a five-point lead and ten ties. The Royals had the largest lead of the
half, at five points twice, and Scranton headed to the locker room with a 38-36
lead. The first time Scranton hit a five-point lead was on a three-pointer from
senior guard Ryan FitzPatrick at the 15:06 mark, and
then again on a tip-in from senior forward Eli Londo

pair of free throws from freshman forward Jeff
Cullinan. The Royals then put together an 8-1 run
to cut the Greyhound lead to 66-63 on a FitzPatrick
