Meet Our Office Staff - Kathleen Nemchik
Kathleen Nemchik plays an important role in the Center for Career and Civic Engagement as the Associate Director of Career Development for Experiential Learning. Although this title may seem confusing, it simply means that Kathleen helps both current and past students find their path in life through experiences such as internships, externships, and job shadowing. During her third academic year here at Moravian College, Kathleen will continue to help students as she leads the Career Connections Externship Program over winter break. This program allows students to shadow a professional in their desired field for 1-3 days to grasp the true goals and tasks of that profession.
“There’s lots of opportunities to engage and to help students reach the goals of figuring themselves out, figuring out what they want to do and how to get there.”
Although Kathleen’s original plan was not focused on helping students her experiences as a graduate assistant working at the Kutztown University Career Center Ignited that passion. Kathleen’s passion for helping students was obvious during my time speaking with her. Although I was not meeting with her to discuss my goals and future aspirations, she asked me about what I was passionate about and gave me a variety of different opportunities to pursue my passion. Without a shadow of a doubt, she is doing the work she loves.
“We are here to help support you and to help you grow… You don’t have to do it all on your own.”
