Severe Weather Commencement Plan 2019

Commencement will be held on campus Saturday, May 11 regardless of the weather.

The severe weather announcement will be posted on Friday, May 10 by 5:00 p.m. on the College’s website, and also communicated via campus email.

In the event of severe weather, Commencement exercises will be split into two (2) ceremonies:

10:00 a.m. The School of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (SAHSS) and the Moravian Seminary

2:00 p.m. The School of Natural and Health Sciences (SNHS)

Graduates will receive two (2) severe weather tickets for guests to view the ceremony in Johnston Hall. Additional guests can view the ceremony in designated locations in the Haupert Union Building (HUB). If more tickets are needed, students may ask fellow graduates for any unused tickets.

How do I know which ceremony to attend?

Graduates receiving the following twelve (12) degrees are in the School of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences or the Moravian Seminary and should report at 9:00 a.m. for the 10:00 a.m. ceremony.

Bachelor of Arts (except Physics and Public Health) Master of Health Administration
Bachelor of Fine Arts Master of Science in Human Resource Mgmt
Bachelor of Music Master of Arts in Chaplaincy
Master of Arts in Teaching Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling
Master of Business Administration Master of Arts in Theological Studies
Master of Education Master of Divinity

Graduates receiving the following five (5) degrees are in the School of Natural and Health Sciences and should report at 1:00 p.m. for the 2:00 p.m. ceremony.

Bachelor of Science Master of Science in Athletic Training
Bachelor of Science in Nursing Master of Science in Nursing
Bachelor of Arts (Physics and Public Health only)
