Moravian College will sign an agreement Monday that will enable students to attend Rutgers Law School in the 2018-2019 academic year.

Rutgers Law School, one of the largest law schools in the country, has campuses in Newark and Camden, N.J.

Under the 3 + 3 Early Agreement Program, qualified Moravian students would be eligible to attend Rutgers following their junior year and would complete both their bachelor’s and Juris Doctor degrees in a total of six years, rather than seven.

“Moravian is thrilled to enter into this partnership with Rutgers Law School,” Uppinder Mehan, dean of Arts, Humanities and Sciences at Moravian, said in a statement.

“We’re very confident that many of our talented students will find this an excellent option if they’re interested in pursuing a law career at an exceptional institution,” Mehan said.

Michael T. Cahill, co-dean of Rutgers Law School, said the program benefits both schools “and mostly importantly, the students.”

Cahill said the students will experience the best of both schools, “the charm and intimate learning environment of a liberal-arts college community and the affordability and career opportunities afforded by a flagship public law school with a large, professional network.”
