Moravian’s is the first program in the nation with a problem-based learning curriculum to achieve full accreditation

BETHLEHEM, PA, August 16, 2022: Today, Moravian University announced that its Master of Science (M.S.) program in speech-language pathology is fully accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

Moravian’s Master of Science (M.S.) program in speech-language pathology is the first program with a problem-based curriculum to earn national accreditation. Moravian University has received this national accreditation status for a period of five years beginning July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2027.

“This national accreditation is a result of many years of hard work, planning, and dedication by the faculty and staff at Moravian,” said Dr. James Scifers, Dean of the College of Health at Moravian University. “We’re extremely proud to have the first problem-based curriculum in the U.S. to earn national accreditation. This recognition validates the high-quality preparation our students and graduates have received prior to becoming licensed health care professionals.”

The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is the national professional, scientific, and credentialing association for members and affiliates who are audiologists, speech-language pathologists, speech, language, and hearing scientists, audiology and speech-language pathology support personnel, and students.

The Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology accredits eligible clinical master's degree programs in speech-language pathology.
