Note-Taking Assistance

Students whose disabilities impact their ability to take and capture lecture material in class may be eligible for note-taking assistance.  Together, the Accessibility Services Center (ASC) staff and the student will discuss how the disability affects their ability to take and capture notes in class, the course structure, and materials.

Depending on the nature of the student's needs, the ASC staff and the student will determine the appropriate note-taking option.  The staff may discuss options such as using Notability or Otter.ai, the services of a peer note-taker, or additional alternatives.

Students who receive this accommodation do not have permission to share notes with others.

To obtain this assistance, students must complete the Intake Form, submit documentation, and meet with a staff member of the ASC.  The ASC staff must approve these services.
