Katie P. Desiderio

Associate Professor of Management; Executive Director, Graduate Business Program

Dr. Desiderio earned an MBA from Wilkes University and a Doctorate in the field of leadership with a specialization in human resource development (HRD) from Barry University. Her research interests, in the area of employee engagement and human connection associated with employees' happiness and performance at work, stimulate her overall work as a professor. As a collaborator by nature, she embraces research with fellow HRD scholars in the area of performance through learning. She is the recipient of the 2018 Lindback Distinguished Teaching Award and, after her first career working several years in corporate marketing, Dr. Desiderio is excited to be able to share her knowledge and experience with students in a career where she has found the essence of embracing mindful leadership at work.



Scott B.

Scott Bartkus

Professor Scott Bartkus holds a Juris Doctorate from the Pennsylvania State University, Dickinson School of Law, a Master’s in Business Administration from DeSales University, and a Bachelor of Arts from East Stroudsburg University. Prior to becoming a faculty member at Moravian College, he has taught numerous business and legal courses at other Lehigh Valley colleges. As a recipient of “Best of the Valley” awards in 2015 and 2016 for private entrepreneurial businesses of which he is a founder/owner, Professor Bartkus has numerous professional achievements, including serving as Vice President of the world’s largest commercial real estate money management firm and leading his own private law practice. He recently authored his first self-help book, “Decide. Believe. Change.” and enjoys spending time with his family, obstacle racing and focusing on wellness.



Michael F.

Michael Fraboni

Dr. Fraboni holds a PhD in Mathematics from Lehigh University, and works in statistics and finite mathematics. While most of his teaching is focused on supporting undergraduates’ forays into advanced mathematics, Dr. Fraboni is excited to be developing and teaching the Business Research Methods course in the MSPA program, which gives him an opportunity to help guide the applied use of mathematics in real world settings. One of Dr. Fraboni’s research interests, combinatorial game theory, bleeds over into his personal life, where he enjoys spending time playing with his family in all sorts of settings.



TJ Baron

TJ Barron

Theodore (TJ) Barron  has over 18 years of experience in Data Analytics and  Process Improvement across the disciplines of Operations, Maintenance,  Asset Management, Supply Chain, Human Resources and Finance. TJ currently serves as the Manager of Process Improvement for PPL Electric Utilities and as the Co-Chairmen of The Data Analytics Committee for the Association of Edison Illuminating Companies. TJ has a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kettering University, an MBA from De Sales University, and is certified as a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt from both Villanova and North Carolina State University.



Joseph S.

Joseph Szmania

Joseph earned his MA and PhD degrees in Economics from New York University. His dissertation was an econometric study of a panel data set evaluating market responsiveness under alternate estimation methods. With business experience spanning 35 years, his analytic work has included developing and programming algorithms used for predictive modeling, market research and in regulatory matters. In his current position, he uses data analytics in support of new business proposals. He has authored several papers on predictive analytics and has served as a journal editor and referee. Joseph is excited to be a part of this innovative program and looks forward to working with students to help enhance their skills in this exciting and important field.
