Myron Genel

Myron Genel ’57, professor emeritus of pediatrics and clinical professor of nursing at Yale School of Medicine, received the Distinguished Service Award from the Connecticut Academy of Science and Engineering (CASE) on May 22, 2017. The award honors members who have provided outstanding service to the Academy.

Your passport to Gifted Education by Monita Leavitt '71 was just published by Springer. Leavitt, an independent international gifted education consultant taught for more than 35 years (25 in gifted education). Her book provides a user-friendly comprehensive guide for new and veteran teachers as well as homeschool parents.

Robert Kafafian

Robert Kafafian ’77, CEO of the Kafafian Group, which advises community financial institutions, was interviewed for the story “Does Financial Regulation Hurt Small Banks?” published by WFMZ on April 28, 2017. You can find the full story at wfmz.com.

Ray J. Pfeiffer

Ray J. Pfeiffer ’87, associate dean for undergraduate programs at the Neeley School of Business at Texas Christian University, was just named co-editor of Accounting Horizons Magazine.

Anna M. SantaMaria

Research into improving iron transport in the human body conducted by Anna M. SantaMaria ’13 and colleagues was published in the May 12, 2017, issue of the journal Science.

Paige Malewski

Paige Malewski ’16 has been accepted as a participant in the United Nations Graduate Study Programme to be held in July in Geneva, Switzerland. This year’s programme: "Climate Change, Migration, Violent Extremism: The United Nations’ Role In Preventing Conflicts Spurred By The Challenges Of Our Time." Malewski is currently enrolled in the master’s program in Human Osteology and Palaeopathology at the University of Bradford in West Yorkshire, England.
