Faculty Educational and Creative Achievements 2016

June 13, 2017

As Provost and Dean of the Faculty at Moravian College and Theological Seminary, it is a privilege to recognize the achievements of our faculty during the Second Annual Faculty Scholarship Day.

The educational and creative achievements of the faculty at Moravian demonstrate how they encourage their students to learn, develop critical thinking skills, and become the leaders of the future able to connect and collaborate in the world.  Education – Creativity – Innovation: these three descriptors set the scene for the 2016 educational and creative achievements of Moravian faculty.

Educational achievements cover the topics of medieval hagiographies, digital tools to teach and learn in the liberal arts, changes in the tax code, and addressing climate change as a global human rights issue, among many others.  Faculty traveled as far as Singapore, Tokyo, Ireland, Finland, and Germany to present research to their peers.  Music faculty produced CDs in big band music. Art faculty showcased their work in exhibits from Santa Fe, New Mexico to Tel Aviv, Israel.

The educational and creative achievements of our faculty during 2016 made an impact - in our local neighborhoods as well as nationally and internationally.  It is with pride that I serve as the Provost and Dean of the Faculty in a college where the faculty care deeply about their community and work tirelessly to share their intellect with others.
