Former Greyhounds and Current Team Meet in Lacrosse Matchup
The rain held off and the skies turned sunny over John Makuvek Field on Sunday, October 9, as 24 alumni came to to do battle with the current men’s lacrosse team. It was the first of what will be an annual event. Though the alumni fought hard, our current Greyhounds captured victory in a final score of 15 to 5.
“The game was close in the first quarter,” says T.J. Hirsch ’07, a dispatch manager for UPS and a former midfielder for the Greyhounds. “We were tied, but then our wheels fell off.”
Still, Hirsch enjoyed the competition and the opportunity to reconnect with teammates, most of whom likely hadn’t seen each other since they played together here at Moravian. Making connections was an important part of the day all around.
“It was a great event,” says David Carty, head coach of the men’s lacrosse team, “and it gave our students an opportunity to meet alumni and make contacts that could help them in their college and post-college years.”
