Moravian College Accepted to UNAI

January 24, 2019

Moravian College has been accepted for membership to the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI), over 1,300 institutions of higher education in more than 135 countries. UNAI is an initiative to promote and support, on college and university campuses around the world, efforts toward realizing the goals of the United Nations: the promotion and protection of human rights, access to education, sustainability, and conflict resolution.

UNAI builds relationships with colleges and universities for the purpose of tapping these communities, which serve as incubators of innovation, creativity, research, and invention.

With the support of UNAI through information and ideas, Moravian College will develop projects and activities that support the UN goals on campus and in our local community as our Millenium Fellows did in fall of 2018.

CONGRATULATIONS!! As in the best Moravian traditions - Comenius's commitment to education, education of ALL including girls, missions to slaves, etc. - Moravian College now reaches out to the World through the United Nations. The College has always been an appreciated academic home to its students, from far and wide in the World and they now can increase their impact in a wider sense. Every best wish for great success into the future.

Congratulations to Moravian for this recognition of outreach to the larger world. As a former delegate to the UN and current consultant, I am happy to see my alma mater engaged in critical international issues that the UN deals with everyday.
