The Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE) has selected Moravian College seniors Prishaani Govender and Will Pelletiers to its Collegiate Champion program for the 2018-19 academic year. Only 22 students were selected from across the United States and only 8 were undergraduate students (most were master’s of public health or doctorate students).

Imagine traveling 125 miles per hour on a lake. Dylan Runne ’16 knows what it’s like. He won the national championship for the Formula 2500 class in hydroplane racing on the St. Lawrence River, in Beauharnois, Quebec, over Labor Day weekend. This win marks the second of his back-to-back professional championships in the formula 2500 class, and it is his eighth national championship over a 16-year hydroplane racing career.

The weather forecast threatened rain but another dry, sunny morning greeted volunteers for the third annual Heritage Day on September 26 as 1,281 Moravian College students, faculty, and staff clocked 2,562 hours of service to the greater community of Lehigh and Northampton Counties. It was a great day to be a Hound.

During the fall semester of his senior year, Andrew Mengel ’17 studied at Palace University in Olomouc, Czech Republic. That experience changed his life and set his postgraduate course. Eager to work abroad, Mengel ’17 accepted a teaching position at a trilingual school in Warsaw, Poland, but discovering a void in quality international education, Mengel and a fellow educator partnered in the development of the International School of Warsaw (ISW), which opened this fall.
