But, you can pick and choose and that's how I can help: If you're trying to find some 5-star events on campus this semester, look no further than this!

The Cohen & Arts Lecture Series with Alec Ross: September 12th
On Wednesday, September 12 at 7 PM, Alec Ross, author of New York Times bestseller "The Industries of the Future," will be holding a presentation in Johnston Hall. Have you ever thought about what the world will look like as technology advances? “The near future will see robot suits that allow paraplegics to walk, designer drugs that melt away certain forms of cancer, and computer code being used as both an international currency and a weapon to destroy physical infrastructure halfway around the world.” Ross is a technology policy expert, innovator, and was the senior advisor for innovation to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. These events are an opportunity for you to connect with like-minded academics from campus. You never know, you might find someone there with similar interests to you!
InFocus Kick Off: September 13th
Have you heard of InFocus yet? The Moravian College community critically engages with a different issue posing local and global challenges through InFocus programming each year. This year's theme is "War, Peacebuilding, and the Just Society," and the first event will be a showing of the stunning film, "The Bomb" in Foy Auditorium at 7 PM on Thursday, September 13. Set to an original electric rock soundtrack by The Acid, the film explores the immense power of nuclear weapons and the perverse appeal they have. The film pierces through the relative indifference of many of us to these weapons, facing us with the shock of their unsettling, strange and compelling reality at the heart of U.S. culture today. After the screening of the film there will be a talkback session with the filmmaker Smriti Keshari.
Heritage Day: September 26th
Every year, Moravian goes off campus to give back to the surrounding community. This year, beginning at 7 AM on September 26, the campus will gather together to then break into groups. These groups will complete service acts ranging from helping in food pantries to cleaning up the creeks in the area. Last year, Moravian gave 2,390 hours of surface with the help of 1,195 students to benefit 1,300 children in the area. Come out and join us for this day of service, giving back to the community, and fun!
Fall Fest: October 6th
If you're an animal lover at heart, this an event that you want to be at! Fall Fest is fully equipped with a roaming petting zoo set up in the Academic Quad behind Comenius each year. We're talking goats, pigs, cows, and more! In addition to the wandering animals, Fall Fest welcomes the community with food, music, and all things fall. This event is an adorable way to welcome in the season with your friends, spend some time in the crisp autumn air, and snap some quality pictures.
Homecoming Weekend: October 19th and 20th
Oh homecoming... I'm sure you've seen all of the movies and TV shows highlighting homecoming events. Your high school might have even had a homecoming dance. But, you've never experienced homecoming until you've been to Moravian College's. On the 19th, go check out the Habitat for Humanity build at 10 AM and prepare for Saturday. The 20th starts off with a parade of clubs and organizations starting at Johnston Hall then it heads right to the football game. 12 PM kicks off our homecoming game against Juniata College! You can check out a full schedule here! This is one tradition that you do not want to miss out on.
Coffee and Connections: November 1st
Networking. Alumni. Business cards. It all sounds so intimidating and, well, "grown up," when you're a freshmen. Admittedly, it kind of is. But, this event is an absolute highlight of my freshman year. It's never to early to start taking part in these type of events and putting yourself out there. The connections that you'll make during Coffee and Connections will be extremely valuable in the future. I've had internship opportunities as a result of the connections that I made with alumni during this event. It's a great opportunity to put your best foot forward and learn how to begin communicating with others in a professional setting.
