What a Day in the Life of the USG President Really Looks Like
This is Angelo Fattore.
Sometimes known as Big Ang, but always known as your USG president. The business management (organizational leadership track, obvi) major is involved in a slew of campus activities and wears a lot of hats, including: Moravian STARs, brother of Omicron Gamma Omega Fraternity, orientation leader, alternative spring break participant, earned second place in AST’s Mr. Moravian 2015, former host of the radio show “The USG Power Hour with Big Ang and the Hound Dog,” pillar 3 committee member for Vision 2020 (Moravian College’s Strategic Plan), University of Oxford study abroad student, and an all around Greyhound. He's got a thing for cream cheese cannoli, can't resist dancing to Lean On by Major Lazer, and is a real life Darryl Philbin, at least according to Buzzfeed.
What is USG?
The United Student Government is the governing body of more than 60 clubs and organizations on campus. USG is also the liaison between the student body and the administration of Moravian College. Each November, elections are held for the next calendar year. If you are interested in getting involved check them out here: www.moravian.edu/usg.
On Monday, March 21st I had to opportunity to track Angelo’s day and see what really goes on in the life of a student body president and government. Lets begin…
5:00 a.m. Angelo wakes up to Tchaikovsky’s 1812 overture, because normal alarm sounds are too mundane to begin his day and why not start the day the revolutionary way?
5:00-6:00 a.m. Meditation and mental preparation for the day ahead. This is crucial to remaining sane and accomplishing his tasks.
6:04 a.m. Makes his bed (step one to conquering the day).
7:30 a.m. Meets Don Boyer in the caf for an omelette (as does the rest of the student body: good job representing the people, Angelo).
7:35 a.m. First Nalgene bottle fill up
