Moravian University Give Day 2016

Get a Giver’s High

In 2006, researchers from the National Institutes of Health examined the MRIs of individuals who donated money to various charities. They found that giving stimulates the reward center in the brain, releasing endorphins—those brain chemicals commonly associated with a runner’s high. You can get your giver’s high on Monday, March 21, during the first-ever Moravian University Day of Giving (aka, #MCGiveDay), a day dedicated to philanthropy, during which alumni, students, parents, friends, faculty and staff come together and make a gift to the University.

And in honor of John Amos Comenius’ 424th birthday, we’ve set a goal to get 425 donors in 24 hours—that’s one extra for good luck! Whether you want to donate $5 (minimum) or $500, make March 21 the day.

Get Started

Stay connected to the action, including special Comenius birthday activities, by following Moravian University on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat. We’ll also be sending updates via e-mail.

Have Fun

What’s a challenge without a little competition? The class with the highest participation on Give Day will received a catered tailgate at this year’s Homecoming, which will be held on October 15.

Win a Prize

Prizes and recognition will go to the Hound who--

  • makes the first gift
  • posts the best throwback photo
  • makes a gift from the furthest location
  • posts the most spirited photo wearing your best MU gear.

And—every student who makes a donation will receive a mood stadim cup and will be entered into a raffle for cool prizes.

Make a Gift

Cash, credit card and online gifts will be counted, and while we encourage you to support the Moravian Scholarship fund, you are certainly welcome to designate your dollars to the cause you feel most passionate about.
