Tonight (Thursday, April 26), the HUB offers a choice of two intriguing arts events that present ideas in very different formats:

At 7:30 p.m. in the Arena Theatre, three Pennsylvania poets will read and discuss their work. Poetry of Place, Pennsylvania, and the Pastoral: A Panel Discussion and Reading with Pennsylvania Poets features Marjorie Maddox, Steve Myers and Lee Upton sharing poetry and poetic insights in an intimate setting. "All three are really lovely people and really fine poets," says Joyce Hinnefeld, associate professor of English at Moravian.

At 8:00 p.m. in Prosser Auditorium, the 4th annual Moravian Student Film Festival showcases the best work from 2007's video and documentary film classes. Some pieces address cultural or political topics like global warming; others are less narrative and more conceptual, illuminating the differences between films and video art. A range of styles and subjects promises a rich experience of diverse images and sounds.

While you're pondering which event to attend, make time for the opening of the Painting II exhibition, Student Gallery, happening from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. tonight in the student gallery, room 105, South Hall, Hurd Campus. Work by the Spring 2007 Painting II class will be featured. And remember that the senior show will be on display in the Payne Gallery through May 13!
