Spring Happenings, Happy Alumni
Alumni were eager to reconnect with old friends and faculty members at Alumni Weekend, May 29-30. Attendance was excellent, as many alums who had not been to campus in years "came home" to celebrate reunions and enjoy affinity group activities. "A wide variety of classes was represented, and affinity groups—such as chorus and band—received very enthusiastic support," said Marsha Stiles, director of Alumni Relations.
The Lehigh Valley Alumni Home Club also had a busy spring. In April, 80 alumni visited Vynecrest Vineyard in Breinigsville, Pa., for a tour and tasting social. The group was hosted by Vynecrest owners John '65 and Jan Whitfield Landis '64. On May 23, nearly 100 alumni watched an IronPigs baseball game from the P.P.L. Picnic Patio. Attendees reported that the seats were fantastic (as was the food)! For more photos of alumni events, click here.
The Lehigh Valley Alumni Home Club will meet again on June 17 to plan their summer and fall events. The meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. with pizza in the Alumni House, followed by planning in the lower level reception area of Colonial Hall at 6:30 p.m.
We hope to see you—alumni, faculty members, and staff—at one or more of the upcoming events.
Health Insurance Available
During this time of economic uncertainty, many of our alumni, new grads, and their family members are in need of health insurance.
Short-term and permanent health insurance options are available through the alumni insurance program. The program is typically promoted to new grads just before and after graduation, but in response to the rising unemployment rate and in an effort to help all of those in need, we’re spreading the word more broadly this year. This is also perfect for children of alums who are graduating (even if they did not attend Moravian College) and aren’t yet covered under an employer’s health plan.
For more information, individuals can contact the alumni office or contact the program manager directly at www.meyerandassoc.com/ma/moravian or 800-635-7801.
