Shaping Up in Time for Spring

College Hosts a Series of Events to Promote Wellness in the Coming Weeks

The time is now to get shape in time for the spring! With healthy living in mind, Moravian College is hosting a myriad of wellness programs and activities in the coming weeks, including its Health Fair just around the corner.

On Wednesday, March 19, the College will host its annual Health Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the HUB. There will be interactive displays, a variety of health testing and screening stations, as well as the always popular 10-minute massage appointments. Please stop by to test your cholesterol, blood sugar, strength and BMI, as well as participate in the fair's vision and bone density screenings.
Additionally, there will be Zumba and toning classes, meditation circle classes, nutrition appointments and HIV testing.

Kathy Atkinson of the Moravian College Health Center, which presents the fair, estimates there will be 35-40 participating organizations in attendance.

Beginning next week, Moravian will host its Walking Challenge, a five-week walking program where the College will face off against Muhlenberg College and DeSales University. The intercollegiate competition will see which school can have the highest average steps. Moravian will also have an internal challenge with each VP division challenging the other divisions as well as students. The competition is based on how much physical activity you participate in, not just walking.

The Walking Challenge will run from Monday, March 24, through Sunday, April 27. To learn more, click here. For more information, contact Jessie Ervin at

Join your fellow students and colleagues in the annual walking competition. There will be weekly prizes and the first 100 to register receive a Moravian Walking water bottle.

Lastly, the College will host a Color Your Plate initiative, a program that focuses on a different color fruit/vegetable each week for six weeks. The nutrition campaign runs from Monday, March 24, through Sunday, May 4. The P.A.W.S Wellness Committee is teaming with Dining Services to make the program a reality and help increase awareness of personal fruit and vegetable intake.
