Moravian College Business Programs Receive ACBSP Accreditation

ACBSP Accreditation

Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, May 5, 2015—Moravian College’s business program was recently awarded accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) Board of Commissioners. The ACBSP Board of Commissioners awarded accreditation to Moravian College’s undergraduate majors in accounting, management, and economics. ACBSP accreditation was also achieved by Moravian College's Master of Business (MBA) and Master of Science in Human Resource Management (MSHRM) degrees.

“The accreditation is a significant step for the MBA and Master of Science in Human Resource Management (MSHRM) degrees,” said Lizabeth Kleintop, associate dean of business and management programs. “ACBSP accreditation recognizes our commitment to quality in teaching and student outcomes,” she added.

“We follow the continuous quality improvement practices we teach to our students in a student-centered learning approach that provides graduates with practical problem-solving skills, leadership abilities, data analysis, environmental awareness, and good citizenship," Kleintop continued. "We practice what we teach and what businesses do and ACBSP recognized that that quality."

Professor Gary Kaskowitz, chair of the Economics and Business Department explained that ACBSP accreditation assures students that they are gaining the right knowledge and skills for their educational investment. “We are focused on our students and preparing them for them for life after college. We work with local businesses to understand their needs as well as to provide opportunities to students, importnat activities recognized by ACBSP.”

Founded in 1988, ACBSP is a leading specialized business accreditation association committed to advancing excellence in business education worldwide. Institutions of higher educations, such as Moravian College, desiring an accreditation that acknowledges and emphasizes quality in teaching and learning turn to ACBSP for accreditation. ACBSP was the first business accreditation association to be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
