What is your role at the College and what is something many may not know about the work you do?

I am currently an Assistant Professor in the graduate clinical counseling program in the Seminary. Previously, I had been the Assistant Director of Counseling at the College. Something many may not know about the work I do is that I may not be seen, but I am probably somewhere—out of sight, in the back row, behind a tall person or behind the scenes!

My favorite spot on campus is…

The rare book area in Reeves Library or the Moravian Archives because, well, everything there is old and pretty fascinating to look at.

What’s your favorite Moravian College tradition?

Using dining trays to sled down the hill on the quad because many people crash and burn, which is hilarious.

Have you given or received a #MyMoPaw yet?

I gave numerous MoPaws to people for just because, and it made me smile because I made up words like FABULOUSITY and AWESOMENESS. I received a MoPaw from Nicole Loyd, and it made me smile because even though I left student affairs, she still appreciates what I do!

Finish this sentence: “When I grow up, I want to be _____.”

A crossing guard, because the little stop sign they hold has so much power.

I can never resist a good________.

LIVE concert! I've been going to live shows since 1977. I've seen everyone from Liberace to Motley Crue to Nirvana to Bob Dylan to the Osmonds to Brad Paisley to Rush to Ted Nugent to ZZ Top to the Rolling Stones...the list is endless!

Who is your hero? Why?

Any woman who has stood up on her own and known that there were other women behind her who had her back.

What is the best advice you have ever received?

When life hands you lemons, make lemonade, lemon meringue pie and lemon custard. If you get more lemons, cut them into little wedges and squirt them into the eyes of your enemies! (My mother told me this when I was in 6th grade.)

Wild Card: Share a fun fact—anything!

I got pulled over driving a UHAUL truck to an Aerosmith concert at Lehigh's Stabler Arena! Also, I got a speeding ticket on my way home from traffic school.

Okay, one more: I never liked or had Barbie's, but I did like her stuff. With my first post doc degree paycheck, I bought myself a 1977 (mint) Barbie Dream House.

What sound do you love? Why?

The sound of a white noise. I've had a machine outside my office for 13 years. I find it soothing and a way to enter the space in my head.
