The School of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (SAHSS) is home to Moravian University’s programs in the Humanities, Music and Art, and the Social Sciences. Our strong majors include English, History, Global Religions, French, German, Spanish, Philosophy, Music, Art and Graphic Design, Political Science, Education, Management, Psychology, Economics, Environmental Policy, and Sociology. Moravian faculty are leaders in their fields and closely mentor students inside and outside of the classroom. Students can work one-on-one with faculty through Student Opportunities for Academic Research (SOAR) and Independent Study projects. Faculty led study abroad trips and service learning projects provide students with opportunities to apply what they learn in courses. Through the InFocus program at Moravian, students and faculty direct their learning and research towards some of the significant challenges facing the world today. Students are provided opportunities to present their own contributions at local, regional, and national conferences, including the Medieval Studies and Philosophy Conferences held at Moravian.
Students will develop skills while they master content in our programs of study. Some of these skills include: clear communication, leadership, problem solving and analysis. These skills prepare students for the variety of careers. Our graduates pursue careers in Sales and Marketing, Criminal Justice, K-12 Teaching, Communication, and Accounting, to name a few. Other graduates continue their studies in Law, Business, or other graduate programs.
