Moravian College for Women Collections
Moravian Seminary and College for Women Digital Collection: This collection depicts the lives of women who studied at the Moravian Seminary and College for Women from 1863 to 1954. The seminary and college was the first institution in the United States to educate women and the 6th oldest women’s college. The collection includes photographs, yearbooks, scrapbooks and oral histories of the women. These items portray the women in the college classroom, dorms, clubs and leisure activities.
Moravian College for Women Oral Histories: Moravian College for Women was incorporated in 1913 and educated women until 1954 when it merged with the Moravian Theological Seminary to become Moravian College. There were several projects led by the Alumni Association to interview the women alumnae about their experiences at the women's college. Through the camera, the personalities of these women come to life as they tell their college and personal stories.
