Amy Putlock, a teacher at Bethlehem’s Broughal Middle School, is a quarterfinalist for the Grammy Award for Music Educator.  Amy is a general and vocal music teacher and is among 189 teachers from 179 cities nationwide chosen from more than 3,300 nominations submitted from all 50 states.  The list in September will be narrowed to 15 semifinalists, and in December to 10 finalists.  The winner will be flown to Los Angeles to accept the award and to attend the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards Special Merit Awards Ceremony. The ceremony will honor recipients of the Lifetime Achievement Award, Trustees Award, and Technical Grammy Awards.

Rachel Matus Lynn and her husband, Andrew ’08, raise service dogs for veterans with PTSD/TBI through a non-profit called Tails of Valor.  Rachel is an art teacher and Andrew teaches music.   They both work for the Bethlehem Area School District.

The U.S. Department of State and the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board announced that Kaitlyn Boyer of School Lane Charter School IB Campus in Bensalem, Pa. has been offered a Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms grant. Kaitlyn is one of approximately 76 U.S. citizens who will travel abroad through the Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms Program in 2018-2019.  Recipients of Fulbright grants are selected on the basis of academic and professional achievement, as well as demonstrated leadership potential.

Jordan Adams finished her Ph.D. in Earth and Environmental Sciences at Tulane University in August 2017.  Her graduate work focused on the development of numerical models to understand flood-driven erosion processes.  She is now a postdoctoral research associate at INSTAAR, University of Colorado Boulder, exploring the sustainability of sedimentation patterns in the Ganges-Brahmaputra-Meghna delta system.

Chelsea Dotta and Kyle Krupa, DPT were married on May 12, 2017.  The wedding was held here on Moravian’s South Campus in Peter Hall and the reception was held at the Historic Hotel Bethlehem.   Morgan Zaharchuk ’11 served as maid of honor, Caitlin McCauley, Esq., Samantha Stiner Larkin ’11, were bridesmaids and Brad Bodine served as a groomsman.  The couple resides in Miami, Florida.

Sarah Thomas ’10 & ’17 and Ben Sofka were engaged on December 19, 2015 and married December 10, 2016.  Fellow and future Greyhounds celebrating with them included Paul ’94 and Ellen Thomas Saylor ’99, Chris Tomac ’95, Chrissy Marino Lefkus, Phil Weiser ’12, Gaby Haddad-Weiser ’10, Lauren Rommal ’11, Sue Rohn Testa ’98, Sarah Farrell Johnson ’13, Linda Huth Crook ’72, John Stocker ’89, Daniel Stocker ’19, and, Natalya Schienholz ’21.  Ben graduated from Lehigh University in 2016 with a Ph.D. in Physics and accepted a position as a Senior Engineer at GlobalFoundries in Vermont.  Sarah graduated Moravian in 2017 with a MEd and currently teaches German in the Bethlehem Area School District.

Kaitlyn Boyer received her Masters in Art Education from the University of the Arts.  Her culminating thesis focused on utilizing storytelling and journaling to explore personal identity in the art room.

Josh Hinkle has joined Wells Fargo Advisors as a financial advisor.  Prior to joining Wells Fargo Advisors, he served as a financial advisor at Morgan Stanley for three years, where he managed more than $25 million in client assets.

Brittany Deiling was awarded the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine on Sunday, June 5, 2016.  In 2012 Brittany received her master’s degree in biomedical sciences from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.  Brittany is continuing her medical training in anesthesiology at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pa.

Laura Hullfish married Jason Caiola on October 17, 2015 in New Hope, Pennsylvania.  Kathryn Kane was a bridesmaid.  Their wedding was attended by fellow Moravian alumni: Gerard Longo, Caitlyn Wyand, Jacqueline Seidler, Andrea Vassa ’08, Kimberly Porcino ’11, and Megan Kopp ’11.

Ashley Stone and Joseph Melchionna were engaged on March 21, 2015.  Ashley is the head cheerleading coach for the Greyhounds and Joe is the Blue & Grey rep for the Baseball Team.  A June, 2016 wedding is planned at Hotel Bethlehem.
Chris Leiby joined the Peace Corps.  He has been living in the Eastern Caribbean for over a year on the island of Dominica.  Chris teaches literacy at the local primary school.

Rachel Beck & Anthony Falco are engaged to be married.  A July 2015 wedding is planned.  Rachel is a social studies teacher at Heritage Middle School in Livingston, NJ and Anthony is currently employed at Sports Training Physical Therapy in East Hanover, NJ.   In 2013 Anthony received a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Jefferson University.

Phil Viglione graduated from Widener University School of Law in Harrisburg in May, 2014.  He passed the Pennsylvania bar in October, 2014 and is now an associate with Driscole, Howell, O’Leary in Allentown

Rachel Matus and Andrew Lynn ’08 were married on June 21, 2014 in Peter Hall on Moravian’s south campus.  Andrew and Rachel are both teachers in the Bethlehem Area School District.
Notes from Matt Bross:  I wanted to let you know that my presentation defense went well last Friday.  I got my PhD in Mechanical Engineering and can relax for a few days.  Furthermore, I was lucky to have my Physics Professors Dr. Kelly Krieble ’86, Dr. Roeder, and Mr. Joseph Powlette ’60 from Moravian stop by for the presentation.  Ben Sofka was there also.  Ben was a classmate of mine and a fellow ’10 Physics major.  He is now working on his PhD in physics at Lehigh.

Disney World in Orlando, Florida was the beautiful setting for the marriage of Samantha Milita to William Pitcher on December 9. The couple resides in Philadelphia.

Brooke Prelovsky and Tom Czarnecki '09 were married in Allentown, PA on September 10, 2011. Including themselves, they had 13 alumni and 1 current Moravian student in the bridal party!! Bridesmaids were: Kori Burke '09, Jessica Swartz '09, Alyson Rice '10, Ashley Stone '10 & Alyssa Howerter '13. Groomsmen alumni were: Mike Voskian '09, Anthony Giovannini '09, Dan Teese '09, Erik Brinkerhoff '09, Joe DeMuro '09, Joe Melchionna '10 & Phil Spence '10! In addition to their Greyhound filled bridal party, they had 15 other Moravian Grads and a few current Moravian students in attendance!

Former assistant track and field coach at Moravian, Beresford "Ozzie" Brown, the 2008 NCAA decathlon and indoor long jump champion has joined the Lawrence University Saints track and field staff as an assistant coach.Brown was also a two-time All America in the 55 hurdles and the 2008 USTCCCA Mideast Region male Indoor and Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year and Mideast Region Indoor Field Athlete of the Year. He was the Mideast Region Male Track and Male Field Athlete of the Year in 2007.

Becky Kolacki and Jason Ginther '11 were married on September 3rd, 2011 in Patchogue, NY. They now reside in King of Prussia, PA. Jason is working as a software developer for Vanguard and Becky is working on her master's degree in library science at Drexel University.

Tim Betz ran an ultra marathon in Philadelphia on July 17th, he was cheered on by some members of the Moravian Cross Country team and fiancée Gail Dornenburg.

     Marcey Muffley Goodbred ’10 and Andrew Goodbred 08 are happy to announce their marriage on May 29, in Lehighton, PA.  They currently reside in Bethlehem, PA.  Other former Hounds who attended included Simon Tabchi '08, Meredith Wright, Beka Houska, Kaitlyn Siederman '11, Kyle Goodbred '13, Steve Ingraham, Peggie Naples, and Nicole Hale.  The couple visited St. Lucia for their honeymoon.  Andy has started his medical school clinical rotations at St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem, and Marcey will soon take her NCLEX nursing exam.
