Alexandra Borden Bompardre has received her master’s degree in film music composition from Columbia College Chicago.  She then moved to Los Angeles where she works full time as a composer.  In October, 2018, Alexa and Don Bompardre were married.  Most recently, Alexa composed the music for two musicals that premiered in June 2019: Hell’s Kitty (book and lyrics by Nicholas Tana) and Take A Chance (book and lyrics by Maggie Gautschy).  In May and July of this year, two of the films she scored were released on Amazon Prime:  heartwarming family film Project:  Puppies for Christmas (starring John Ratzenberger), and Angela Matemotja’s award-winning drama, Elevate.  Upcoming film releases include Limerence (written and directed by Dan Pedersen) and Blush (a film by Emma Johnson).
Jasmine Thomas was born in the Bronx, New York and lives in Bushkill.  Jasmine has been involved in theater for nearly 15 years and will perform in Shawnee Playhouse’s upcoming “Mamma Mia!”  Jasmine, the director, studied vocal performance at Moravian, and is currently the director of “Parallel Lives” at the Shawnee Playhouse.

Elizabeth Sgambelluri writes:  For this teaching year, my position as an Adjunct professor, at Keene State College, has been raised to a full-time position by the request of the Biology department and the grace of the Dean of Sciences.  I continue to teach courses in Genetics, Cell Biology, Ecology, and Evolution.  This is my second year teaching at Keene State as a professor, and I definitely love it!

Adam Benefield is thrilled to announce the upcoming release of his debut album, Many Moons.  It is a multi-movement, original composition scored for jazz quintet.  Adam hosted an album release party on May 22nd at The Charles Brown IceHouse.

WGAL News 8 has announced that Brittany Garzillo has joined WGAL 8 as the new weekday evening Traffic Anchor.  Brittany made her debut on January 22, 2018.  Brittany will also serve as a general assignment reporter for WGAL News 8 at 10:00 PM and 11:00 PM.

On August 1, Brittany Garzillo, a reporter and producer for PBS 39-WLVT-TV, received 6 Emmy Award nominations from the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS).  This is her third year being nominated as a professional.  The six nominations this year make it a total of 13 professional nominations.  In addition, in 2012, she received a student nomination for the College Production Award at the NATAS Mid-Atlantic Emmy Awards.

Brooke Kuperavage, DMD, graduated summa cum laude May 19, 2017 from Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry at Temple University, Philadelphia.   Brooke is continuing her dental training as a general practice resident at Lehigh Valley Health Network.

Matthew Dragovich completed his doctorate in mechanical engineering, at Lehigh University.  Matthew
was also selected to be the graduate student commencement speaker.  Starting in July, Matthew will be participating in a post-doctoral program at New York University’s Langone Medical Center.  At NYU, he will be researching treatment for different types of melanoma and how the concept of protein-protein interactions can be used in treating it.

Katie Gross has joined the Center for Humanistic Change as a SAP Liaison.  CHS is a private, nonprofit agency providing prevention education (alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs) and life skills training focusing on decision making for healthy choices.
Katie previously worked for Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit #21 as an emotional support interventionist.

Northville Baptist Church in New Milford, CT will celebrate the installation of its new pastor, Rev. Calvin Fergins, Jr.  on January 22 at 10:00 a.m.  Calvin graduated from Elim Bible Institute in 2006 and earned his master of divinity degree from Moravian Theological Seminary in 2013.

Kyle Stackhouse writes: On November 27, 2015 I became engaged to Elizabeth Briggs of Bethlehem, Pa.  We were engaged in Montreal.  A wedding is being planned for the end of summer 2016 after I return home from my basic training in the US Navy Reserve.  Thank you, Emmy!

Amy Baker Trapp, Allentown’s former Human Resources Direct, has been nominated by Executive John Brown to play that same role in Northampton County.  Five members of the County Council must confirm her appointment, and a vote is scheduled for October 1, 2015.

Samantha Houck will be starting graduate school this fall 2015 semester at NYU to pursue her Masters in Archives and Public History.  In addition, she will be completing an internship at the Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology this fall semester.  She will be interning in the Special Collections and College Archives.  Samantha says that she is very excited to begin her NYC adventures.
Victoria Poliskiewicz recently accepted a position as a Jr. Marketing Designer for Starboard Cruise Services, based in Miami, Fla., where she now lives.

Elizabeth Sgambelluri writes:  I am ecstatic to announce that I will be conducting my masters research with the African Lion Enrichment and Research Team (ALERT) in Africa!  They have agreed to facilitate my research, therefore serving as a site to support, advance, and supply technology necessary for my research.  During the 2016-2017 period I will be leading and assisting reintroduction studies with lions in Zambia, monitoring the physical health of these populations, and researching factors manipulating intraguild predation.  My individual research project for my masters presently focuses on the role of hormone imbalances augmenting hyper-aggressive behavior displayed by apex predator and mesopredator African mammals.
Being offered a position with this organization to pursue my interests in large predator conservation is a dream come true.  I am so excited about this new chapter that will unfold, and wanted to share this excitement with all of you at Moravian.

Note from Elizabeth (Lizzy) Sgambelluri:  I have been accepted in Antioch University where I will be completing my masters degree in Environmental Studies; Conservation Biology.  I have also been accepted into the biomedical graduate program at the University of Edinburgh.  I will be completing and receiving my certificate in Biological, Wildlife, and Ecosystem Health in correlation with my masters studies at Antioch.

Michael O’Gorman has joined KIPP DC as a founding third grade teacher at Lead Academy.  He has also started a leadership fellowship with Teach For America that focuses on implementing critical pedagogy at the elementary school level.

Kimberly Gatski competed in the Miss Greater Hazleton Scholarship Program.  The event is an official preliminary to the Miss America Pageant.  Kimberly’s platform is “Youth Against Tobacco”. She danced to “Jumpin’ Jack”.

Carissa Serino's non profit, Traveling Friends Transit, the animal rescue transport service, has two campaigns running on Indiegogo and Fundrazr. She writes, "Please check them out and share with family and friends"

Carissa Serino has started her own small business with her business partner, Seth Lippincott.  Traveling Friends Transit, an animal rescue transport service, will save animals from high kill shelters and bring them to fosters, rescuers, and adopters.

Margaret DeOliveira has started medical school at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University.
Michael O’Gorman has begun teaching fourth grade reading and social studies through Teach for America in Washington, D.C.  He has also started a joint M.Ed. program through Johns Hopkins University and George Mason University.
Brittany Garzillo is now reporting for the new PBS39 local show “Focus”.   Brittany, a former intern, at the station, won a College Production Award at the 2012 Mid-Atlantic Emmy Awards for her documentary, “Three Students, Three Expressions of Art at Moravian College”. Kyle Stackhouse is a management trainee for Enterprise Rent-A-Car in their Easton, Pa location.  He works with two other young alumni, Alysia Garr ’11 and Ryan Hartzell ’12.
Shannen Mohr and Jennifer Smith have joined ParenteBeard as staff accountants.
